Staff are increasingly "under pressure" to deliver, especially in these challenging times. The requirement for establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment which will facilitate optimal physical and mental health in relation to work and the adaptation of work to the capabilities of workers in the light of their state of physical and mental health is critical to comply with an organisation's responsibilities.
In early 2008 Dame Carol Black, National Director for Health & Work, issued a whitepaper recommending referring patients to an early intervention work-related health service to tackle sickness absence. The review identified that sickness absence and worklessness costs the economy £100bn a year - more than the current annual budget for the NHS - with common mental health problems and musculoskeletal disorders being the major causes.
We are able to provide advice, information, training and education, on occupational health issues, provide surveillance of workers' health in relation to work and contribute to occupational rehabilitation where appropriate.
Many services can be internet based providing a cost effective solution with supplementary onsite services where required.
